The 7 Most Important Foods To Eat This Summer

When you think of summer, you probably picture a clear blue sky, warm weather and fun in the sun. Lazy days by the pool, fun activities outdoors, and of course, a good barbeque.

Lemon On Everything! 

Before you reach for a sugar-filled soda or juice, try a simple, healthy and delicious alternative -- simply squeeze a little lemon into your water! This added flavor gives plain old water a little extra “pep,” which leads you to drink more, promoting hydration. It’s also a great source of vitamin C, which can add even more protection from the sun. 

Dark Leafy Greens 

Next time you plan on having a salad with your meal, skip the iceberg lettuce and opt for raw kale, spinach, and leafy lettuce. Veggies that are dark green-colored are among the healthiest foods you can eat. They protect from sun damage by decreasing sensitivity to UV light, as well as mend flaky and dry skin, which strengthens the skin’s defenses against damaging rays. 

Corn on the Cob 

If you can resist the butter and salt, corn on the cob is a high-fiber, low-calorie food that is also delicious! Yellow corn in particular is full of vitamin A, which is great for your skin, as it supports the skin’s immune system and promotes natural moisturising, leaving your skin more hydrated in the warm summer months.
